Chief of Staff, Galmudug State House
Osman Moallim Hassan is the Chief of Staff of Galmudug State House and a Somali public servant, educationist, development practitioner, and institution builder with extensive experience in public administration, higher education leadership, institutional development, governance reform, and peacebuilding.
As Chief of Staff, he supports the leadership of Galmudug State by coordinating government operations, facilitating communication across ministries and public institutions, supporting policy implementation, and strengthening cooperation with federal institutions, development partners, and other stakeholders. His role contributes to effective governance, institutional coordination, reconciliation, and state-building in Galmudug State.
Before his current role, Osman served as Vice Chancellor of Somali International University, where he provided academic and administrative leadership and supported institutional development, curriculum improvement, and quality assurance. He is also the Founder of Galmudug State University, established to expand access to higher education and support human capital development in Galmudug and Somalia more broadly.
In addition, Osman is the Co-Founder and Director of Iftiin Education and Development Organization, where he has contributed to literacy programmes, youth development, teacher training, inclusive education, and community empowerment initiatives.
Osman holds a Master of Arts in Globalization and Development Studies from SOAS University of London and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Middlesex University, United Kingdom.
He is guided by integrity, inclusiveness, collaboration, and a strong commitment to education, governance, peacebuilding, and sustainable development.
